Account On Hold

If you own your equipment, it's $5 per month. If you have leased equipment, it's $5 plus $5 for each leased receiver. And if you're in a contract, you cannot pause your account without breaking that contract (minimum programming under contract is DishFamily).

you cannot pause your account without breaking that contract

Actually I think that's only for retailers. I'd need to check. Anyways, no it doesn't run concurrently with your contract. As soon as you come off pause you have a remaining period equal to that when you paused.

Retailers hate pause. I just think it's a pain. Customers, pop it like pez.

Just called E* to put account on hold...CSR said they can't pause service if you still have a contract. CSR said I could just drop service to lowest package (family). Is this true, or just a CSR that doesn't know what she's doing?

That what I was told when setting up a second account for a second home as far as leased receiver promos are concerned. If you own your equipment it is not an issue.

Whatever happened to the 1 small dish?
