You know its getting close to fall when the Fighting Sioux Sports Network (FSSN) puts up the schedule and coordinates

coordinates
2010 – 2011 FSSN SAT INFO

Very cool. As we get into fall, my system sees a lot of action after being relatively dormant during the "incineration season" (summer)
I love it when friends/relatives come over, during the good sports season and say "Wow, I don't get THAT!"
:D:up

I agree euro

When I had the roof done I was like "eh I'll get the dishes back up. No rush as it was too hot out" but come fall I would have been standing there dish in hand waiting for them to be done :)

So, will my old 30" Voom dish be good enough to pick this up....with the appropriate LNB?

What would the appropriate LNB be. I have to have my sat installer back on my roof anyways, so I'll let him take care of the pointing.

Thanks.

Jason

GO GOPHERS! (hoping for a top 5 WCHA finish this year.....hard to be more optimistic then that)

Go SIOUX !
(The above statement is made without intent to dis anyone)
I remember Pat Sweeney saying, last season. that the schedule was going to be expanded for this season. Looks GREAT!
Now-If the Gophers were to get on satellite, us north central college hockey fans would be in the proverbial HeAvEn !
Hey! how 'bout you there in Wisc?
Denver? ...

In most cases, Goofer road games are on FTA. They have been in previous years. 4:2:2 though
Home games are fibred from Mariucci
Denver games are hit and miss between fibre and satellite...when on sat they are 4:2:2
Bucky games are usually up there but the sat changes all the time

Anchorage home games (and some road games) are on C-Band satellite (Anchorage mux on AMC7)

Trees in the way for anchorage Mux, summer and winter. And don't have. like most others, 4:2:2 capability.
Point being, FSSN is avail to anyone with a DVB-S, the most common type. and they publish their schedule, for all. Like it says on website on the "follow Us" "Satellite" links, Sat-freq-SR, can't get more FTA friendly then that.

Thanks, Iceberg! Seems to me they haven't gotten around to posting it until mid-September the last couple of years. So much the better to find out early.

Fingers crossed that they keep the signal strength as high as it has been the past couple of years and we won't have any problems with adjacent channel interference.

The FSSN coordinates are posted mainly for the smaller cable companies. Its kinda interesting that once I asked the Sioux fans what is on the channel when the Sioux arent on. The main cabe company there has a bulletin board, one system shares it with a shopping channel. The best one was a small cable co and all it says on TV is a purple "no signal" when there is no game :)

I remember the 1st year of the FSSN (2003) the Sioux actually sold a FTA system. Real basic system but for some folks thats the only thing they know about FTA....they use it for the Sioux games

And That's all they use it for. I know a few Snow Birds from up around her that have them set up at their winter "quarters" in TX or AZ. Hopefully, one day, I can become a snow bird. Well, that's a few yrs off.
Some cable affiliates are fed by the sat feed, Others ore on fiber, Sux when Midco, at the last minute, decide to carry something. Then it's only available on the fiber fed affiliates, if they decide to carry it. Did that twice last season. Maybe 3 times.

well I figured they'd change it...frequency was too close to the 12050 mux that is up 24/7

got home and was able ot scan it in with about 2 minutes left in the game

G17 91W
12104
V
4880

so they'll probably use that for the games

Got it about 10 minutes before game start with a smart search, after sitting on their published info for about a half hour. and theralph site has updated and no more follow the Sioux link.

well the last 2 games (yesterdays womens match and tonight) are on
12065
V
4880

so maybe thats where they'll stay for the year
