A little Help for 942 install

Hello everyone,

My question has a simple answer. I am about to get my first 942 DVR. I need to know what the piece of equipment is called that will take the signal from the coax and allow it to go to both tuners of the 942. Is the device called a splitter?

I would really appreciate it if one of you could guide me in the right direction on this.
