Yes, not really FTA, but this place has all the people that have the knowledge and maybe the answer.
Does anyone know of a name or even a part number to the connector that would fit the jack in picture below?
The RS485 jack. All my searches come up with RS232 to RS485 adapters. I don't need an adapter.

I've seen that connector and wondered what the specs are for it; is it the same as an RS232 only with a different interface? I'll assume three connections, txd, rxd, and gnd?

Very interesting links FTA4PA. The entire set up is an old IBM computer running three CCTV cards giving me 12 cameras. The current connection is an adaper connected to the RS232 on computer with an output of two wire RS485. Those two wires goto the PTZ camera. The new connection that I needed something that would plug in is on a new 16 channel CCTV HD-DVR. I have not run into that connection yet so I needed a bunch of help. Wish I could find one in the USA. The China ones were really long possible wait. Many small items I get from China take 10-15 days. Some of those selling that connector were our as far as late May! Oh, well, however long it takes, at least I have a way of getting something that will fit.
Thanks again.

I have ordered things from China as well. Always got what I ordered but, as you said. the wait can be long. Don't know if you've ever dealt with Mouser Electronics here in the US. I have ordered small parts from them several times and have always been pleased with their service. I found these, which may be an option for you, but you would have to look at the spec sheets or perhaps contact Mouser to be sure of the specs:

Well, guess what? The manufacturer must have thought that connector was not something you could pick up easy. L-o-n-g wait from China. So they enclosed one with the unit. Sure made me happy.:)
