A-B switch problem

Background: Just installed a Dish system after many years with a large dish C-band system--which I'm continuing to use for premium channels. I have a 2-receiver Dish box with DVR. My OTA and C-band signals are distributed throughout the house on a separate coax network. Our big screen TV has 2 receivers (for PIP), and two antenna inputs--A and B. I have OTA input connected to antenna A, and Dish signal is fed into B. For the primary upstairs TV, with single tuner, I need some sort of A-B switch solution to allow me to view both inhouse "networks", i.e., OTA and big dish on one, and Dish on the other. The big dish signal is distributed on channel 37. I installed one of Radio Shack's remote AB switches, but I could not receive any UHF channels, including the big dish signal on channel 37. VHF channels were fine on one side of the switch, and the Dish signal was find on Channel 73 on the other side of the switch. The TV is set to the cable mode in order to receive 73, and maybe that's why the UHF signals are not working. I've tried all sorts of combinations, switch positions, etc. and the only way I can receive the UHF stations and the big dish signal is to send it through the VCR, via RCA inputs to Video 1 on the TV. This is a very "unfriendly" work around, because of all the remotes involved. I would appreciate any recommendations anyone might have. Thanks
