Hi, I recently lost my local HD channels. Discovery HD and the few others still work. I checked the reception of the various satellites and most have 75 to 80% reception except for the 99 satelite which reads 0. We had a heavy snow storm when the channels went out. The dish is clear now. I called DTV and went through the t-shooting with them, they said a service visit would be required. Instead, I bought a accutrac 22 on e-bay and I'll realign it myself. I also saw on another e-bay auction that the 99 bird is not active yet.....Is this true? Where do the local HD's come from?
The power failed a few times during the storm. Can that fry an LNB? Can the H-20 box be fried and loose only a few channels. Thanks for your help.

The 99 satellelite is active and some places do get their HD locals from there. You did mention that you have an H20 which is know for having an issue on the signal test screen on the 99 satellite not working correctly.

With your ku band signals as low as 75-80%, I suspect the dish is out of alignment. While someone watches the tv, push SLIGHTLY on each side of the dish and see if that brings your locals back. They are on 99 and 103, I don't know which yours are on. Check the lines for nicks or loose connections. It is possible that you have a bad lnb. It may take a service call to find out. Good luck!

When setting up my 5LNBs to my receiver...should I see signals on the satellites? I guess there must be a "check switch" on one of the menu screens for the alignment of the different satellites?

There is a transponder test menu.
