Having a little trouble with 97W.

We moved, and needed to relocate the dish. It is a 36" generic I have used for years. My wife uses it for all the Glorystar channels.

The required transponder is 11842 for all her desired channels. But I am having some difficulty with locking in. I am using a FirstStrike FS1 meter with settings of 11842, a SR of 22000 and Horizontal 18. Using a universal LNB and have that set at 10750. 22K is off.

I was able to pick up 12177 almost immediately with a S of 90 and Q of 63. However, I just can't seem to locate 11842 for a lock.
How far apart are these two transponders? Is 11842 east or west of 12177? Dishpointer leads me to 204 degrees with an elevation of 38.

If I can get 12177 so well, shouldn't 11842 be right there?

Any suggestions? I fiddled around with this for over 30 min before giving up for the night.

Thanks

Yes. You don't need to move the dish to get different transponders. If dish is aimed correctly, all transponders should likely be received. I notice 12177 is vertical and 11842 is horizontal. Are you receiving other horizontal transponders?

If using a universal LNBF set your LO to 10600 and 22k on. :)

But how come that he received 12177 with LOF still set at 10750, then?

12177-10750+10600 = 12027, so that would be near 12028, but that is H 22000 5/6; unlike V 2300 (edit: should be 23000) 3/4 of 12177... so that's no option that he received that ???

What am I missing, here? I'd like to know!

That is a very good question. As he had 22k off so it would be 12177-10750+9750=11177.
