Did a search on this and found some info from back in May that relayed problems with callerID but nothing current. The caller ID on my 942 is hit and miss. I have rebooted, turned the option on and off and ran the phone line test which is OK. Are other people having this issue? Anything new on this? I have a regular phone line, no DSL and latest software version.

:wtf:

Thanks

You could retrace the phone line for any suspect connections. I had one line giving me fits for years. Just today I redid my phone service to the 942 and now the CID works.

My symptoms were: It would pass the phone line connection test but fail to dial out. That never made sense until today.

mine too, sometimes it shows unknown or out of area though, when my phones show at least the number coming in. happens mostly for cell phones.

Mine works, but it makes the Sirius channels on screen song info stop updating when a call is displayed. I think I had to leave and come back to the channel to get it back in sync.

I haven't noticed if it was fixed in the newer updates. It's been a while since I checked.

Interesting, I'll have to check out the Sirius channels to see if that happens on mine.

Did it go black? I miss the old recievers where you could hhit cancel and the screen would go dark. Good for listening to music as you fall asleep.

In the SBC world of Los Angeles, the 942 only reads about 50% of the calls. Otherwise it says unknown/out of area. Cell phone or not doesn't matter. The phone gets about 90%. My 811 does as well as my phones.

There was a time back in early July when the 942 ID stopped working. Rebooting each time helped. The issue went away and no new problems since.

Got to say it my old Voom box was the best.

No, it just repeated the info for the song that was on when the call came through even if the song changed.

I just turn off the TV and it goes black. I don't use my sets for audio. Everything is played through a receiver/amp.

Well after some extensive testing today it does seem to be the 942 that is the problem. Of course I tried rebooting several times, turning the CID option off and on, etc. I have a media center which has been getting CID fine so I took the phone line from it and tried it on the 942 and still no CID. Put in back on the Media center and it works fine. I tested the line with a phone and no static at all. It just seems the CID function on this box is dead!. Phone line test and call out both work fine.

Oh well. :(
