Hello,

I have a newly installed 922K HD DVR receiver and a legacy 301 receiver (which I used to pair with a DishPVR which died on me). I have the 922 in Solo mode with mirror mode on a 2nd TV. This HD portion of the setup is working fine. I'm trying to get the 301 to work on a 3rd TV by connecting the 2nd line from the HD satellite dish (which the Dish Network installer connected when doing the installation) to the Satellite in. The 119 satellite is working fine but the 110 is not synching at all, so I can see some but not all channels on the 3rd TV. The 922 is working perfectly and when I flip the feed lines between the 301 and the 922, the 922 continues working perfectly. Is there supposed to be some other kind of connector or configuration setup to get the 301 receiver to properly synch both the 110 and 119 satellites?

Thanks in advance...

I am surprised DISH activated the 301 I thought they were upgrading 301s to 311. Call and ask DISH about replacing 301 with problems, you may have to add the protection plan until repair is completed then drop it.

I had purchased the 301 from Costco a few years ago to go along with my now buster PVR and activated it without issues. It had been working perfectly all along.

Does the 301 only show 119 after you run the check switch test? What kind of LNB do you have connected? Be sure that you're using RG6 cable as well.

Ideally, you would just connect the 301 to the LNB, run a check switch, and al would be well.

Thanks for the help Matt. It looks like I have the newer elliptical dish with the dark gray tone and the white and red Dish HD logo painted on it. There's a triple LNBF labelled DP Plus Digital LNBF with 2 RG6 lines coming out down to where my receivers are. One of the RG6 lines is going into the triplexer feeding the 922 receiver. The other RG6 line is going into the 301 receiver. No other switches between the LNBF and the RG6 lines or the receivers.

The 301 installation setup screen is showing a SW21 switch with 110 and 119 Odd, Even polarity matrix all filled out and reporting Satellite reception verified. SuperDish installed. However, there are no switches other than the triplexes going into the back of the 922 from the one RG6 line, as I noted before. There used to be a SW21 switch, with the previous dish/LNB I used to have though...

However, when I leave the diagnostics menus, I get the satellite signal lost error screens. I can go to Guide and select channel 200 and watch CNN all I want, but if I change to most other channels, I get the satellite signal lost screen right away.

Did you run a check switch test on the 301? This is in Menu > 6 > 1 > 1 > Check Switch > Test. This should update the 301 to the LNB/Dish that it is currently connected to.

Fantastic! Thanks for the help MattG and garys. I obviously forgot to actually press the Test button and didn't pay enough attention.

After actually running the switch Test I get:

DPP 1K.2

119 110 129
All All All
+1k2 +1k2 +1k2
Satellite reception verified
SuperDISH

I guess I was expecting there to be some other kind of diplexer or switch to connect to make it all work, but I'm now getting all my channels and everyone is happy on the home front. Awesome forum...cannot thank everyone enough.

If and when you need to get HD to your second TV you will need to upgrade to DISH's VIP211k,which has not only an HD HDMI connection, but an SD connection and a builtin OTA tuner. The 211k can also become a DVR when hooked up to an EHD and that upgrade there is a $40. one time fee for the 211k to become a DVR if that is something you maybe interested in .Good Luck!.:)
