921 Keyboard???

It was actually never announced for the 921, the keyboard was an accessory for the 721.

Its kind of funny if you ask someone at Dish about it or about Internet access on the 921 they tell you they never said Internet access would be available on the 921. Of course in my menus Internet is still an option there. (As is DVHS) :)
 
You're probably referring to the vssll communications guys that were alluding to a keyboard for the 921 being available. Those guys have no credibility, and they gave a lot of customers a very hard time when the 921 first came out, demanding certified checks being sent, and then nothing being sent in return. There is no keyboard. I've tried a usb keyboard on mine, and it doesn't work.
 
Meanwhile, the options menu has a choice for "Keyboard" as "Dish" or "Standard".

Another "future" upgrade that never happens.......

Except for the 8VSB module upgrades for the 6000 receivers have they EVER released an additional hardware upgrade after a product's original release?
 
I think the "Keyboard" option refers to the on-screen keyboard used when creating a search string. It can either be the standard QWERTY layout or ABCDEF...
 
jsanders, the keyboard for the 721 in caseyatbt's avatar won an award at CES. But, as you say, there is no keyboard.

Scott, do you still have the box with "internet" taped over?

Bob, there was also an 8PSK module for the 6000, DD adapter for the 4000 and 5000, and the now obsolete HDTV modulator for the 5000.
