921 gets stuck in playback

I have a 921. Lately, when I watch something that I recorded, when the program is over and I press STOP, I can't return to live programming. I select CANCEL, and nothing happens. I select ERASE, same thing. I press VIEW and instead of going back to live TV, I return to where I stopped the playback.

If I select GUIDE, I can scroll through the guide, but not matter what I select, I go back to where I stopped the playback. To get out of this, I have to reboot.

Anyone else have this problem?

Also, is there some upgrade path from a 921 to a 942? Sucks that I waited almost a year, then paid 1K for an box that was practically obsolete when I bought it.

I feel your pain. I too dumped $1K on the POS.

No - no upgrade to 942. Maybe we'll see some love when the Vip622 (or other MPEG-4 DVR) hits the market - but don't count on it.

Anyway, if it "hurts" when you press STOP, don't press STOP. FF to the end so that the event is now in OVER state. I think you'll be much happier with how it acts.
