87W & 93W on single dish?

Is it possible to receive 87W and 93W on a single dish with a dual LNB holder? I'd be using a 1-meter Winegard dish.

If it is possible - any recommendations for products and places to buy from would be highly appreciated.

I would think it should be possible. try half way down on this page for a second lnb holder. It says it will work with satellites 4 degrees apart and these two are 6 degrees but maybe you could adjust it somehow.

You could also make your own.

I appreciate your replies. I do know that dual LNB holders exit and that DMS International is one of the wholesale distributors of such products. But is this possible for these two specific satellites? Can something like this work for 87W & 93W on a 1M Winegard? Better yet - does anybody have a WORKING installation? If so - what parts did you use?

Sure it's possible. It's just a matter placing the LNBs at the right location. That may require a bit of trial and error. I believe Mike Kohl has a page about this and sells some parts that may be useful for this. Even if your not interested in buying his parts just looking at the page should give you some ideas of what you may be able to rig up yourself.

The second link is particularly interesting. Notice the 5 meter Simulsat dish capable of receiveing upto 10 satellites at a time. Wouldn't ya just love having one of those in your backyard?

Anyway, to get back on topic, you should be able to easily make your own mulitfeed system with a little bit of work and a trip to your local hardware store. However, I have noticed that there are apparently some Primestar dishes out there designed to receive 2 satellites spaced 6 degrees apart. I wasn't aware of these dishes until recently when I started seeing them on ebay. I purchased one and according to the manual that came with it the 2 satellites it was intended to be aimed at were at 93 and 99 degrees. One of these might be just the ticket for receiveing the 2 satellites your interested in. However, I'd probably try adding a second feed to your existing dish first as I'm sure that would be much cheaper and shouldn't be that difficult to achieve.

A while back I was monkeying around with a DirecPC dish and had both G3 (95) and AMC3 (87) working at the same time. Unfortunatelly, the way it was being held (wood and duct tape) didnt hold long

This weekend I had on the DirecPC dish 91,95,105,110...91 & 95 are permanent on the dish....the other 2 were just jerry rigged

A 1-meter dish should have no problem holding 2 LNB.

I have a 1.2 meter that at its heyday, held 4 LNBFs (I am facing the dish)

97 (primary)
101 on the right
91 on the left
87 on the far left

I only use homemade brackets. They are not very secured. I could have made some more secured mountings if I wanted to...
