Hi, all! I've had my 811 since Dec. We often leave it on all night so it doesn't get to do its daily update. The penalty we paid to this point has been that after a day or so (never timed it) when we access the Guide it shows "No info available" in all blocks and immediately starts the D/L to refresh itself, taking a couple of minutes. I can cancel out of that but I usually let it finish. Once the D/L is complete the guide is replaced and it returns to whatever program was most recent. Seemingly no harm done.

In that past several days when I get the "No info..." screen and it completes its D/L, the blocks still say "No info..." and the units seems to be locked-up. I have to do a soft reboot to clear it and complete the D/L. This has happened several times in the past 3 days.

Anyone else see anything like this? Am I due for a 6-month tune-up or something? (SW = 3.37, I believe.) TIA...

I leave mine on 24/7 as it is slaved to a Replay box, It has shown "no info"after a download, but after hitting guide again usually the info will come up. I have had to go through the download process again a couple of times but the info came up...

Tks for your reply! I think I tried that, but I'll make sure next time. As I mentioned, it seemed like the whole thing was locked-up...

Mine has apparently settled down again. I haven't seen what I OP'd since then. Fingers and other body parts remained crossed, however...!

The 811's are being plagued with a "known software issue" right now. Most notably people who have more than one receiver are having problems.

For instance I have an 811 and a 625, and my 811 locks up completely about every 2 weeks or so. Not a big deal as I just have to unplug/replug-in both units to clear the problem, but your problem may be related to the same issue.

Interesting - I did just add the 622 right before the 811 started acting up, but I had 2 other receivers activated when the 811 was "king" and had no such problems then. Hmmm...something else to find space in my already-information-overloaded brain...!

Tks for the feedback...

The "No Info" bug has been around for awhile in the 811s. E* has been trying to fix it for the longest time and sometimes they make it even worse with new software updates. There's a new software update coming soon so hopefully it will help.

Do a search for the No Info bug and you will find some threads about this issues. From what I remember reading, it happens mostly if you leave the receiver on a OTA channel. Some receivers are bug free, some others are really bad.

If I leave mine on an OTA channel, it will lose the guide and after downloading, it has not shown any info but after hitting Guide again, it would show up. I've never had mine appear to lock up.

I did have a weird thing happening for awhile but it went away. What happened was: it appeared to lockup but in actuallity it was responding to commands extremely slow. I ended up unplugging it and powering it back on to fix it.

Don, I like your Avatar, reminds me of my cat.

I have most of these problem as well, but my receiver is on a plug in wall timer. At 2 A.M. when all is quiet, all power is automatically shut down for 30 minutes. This resets the receiver, looks for all sat.'s, and downloads program guide, all automatically while no one needs it. But still, regularily, I get, "No Info" and have to re-download the program guide. I only have one E* rcvr, an 811.

Happened again this past weekend, soft reboot to clear. We don't have an OTA signal connected to this receiver so I know it's independent of that. This is the unit my wife uses primarily and it's always left on all night. I don't know if that has anything to do with it or not. Minor issue - we can live with it...

Yes my 811 has been a POS after recent updates :(

I should've learned and turned off the updates when my 811 was actually still working, but now it's crap...

I tried to do that when 3.38 (maybe it was 3.37?) was spooling in phases and some folks were reporting new problems after the "upgrade". I disabled the automatic updates, but it D/L'd just the same one night shortly afterward - I can't remember if it was on all night that time or not. So apparently a "forced" update can't be disabled...?

Yeah they can force updates if they want to.

It really is a pisser that dish took what I had as a working 811 and totally detroyed it. and it does nothing to call them on the phone cause I can't find someone to talk to that will do anything for me.
