811 audio chatter

I just hooked up my 811 with an optical cable to my RCA receiver and unless I set it to PCM only I get nothing but chatter on all hi-def channels and ota channels.Other channels work fine.My receiver is an RCA RT2500 w/Dolby. Any suggestions? I know cable is good.

Its a known problem all you can do is use PCM only mode until it gets fixed in a future software upgrade.

My 811 is hooked up with a digital audio cable to my Sony 897 receiver and it works fine with PCM/Dolby mode on the 811. The receiver automatically recognizes a broadcast in Dolby and displays the signal type on the receiver.

The only problem I have is the output from the 811 is not as loud as the output from the CD or FM radio. For instance, if I set the receiver at volume 40 for the CD player, I would have to set the volume at 50 to get the same output from the 811. Not sure why. Anyone else notice this?
