He's my question:

I have a 722 that runs 3 tv's 2 on one floor and one in my basement. I have the normal IR remote for tuner 1 and tuner #2 uses a UHF remote 6.3. Is it passable to have 2 UHF remotes to control tuner #2. I have an extra 6.3 remote that I would like to keep in the basement to use with that TV instead of carrying my #2 remote with me into the basement.. I followed the remote set up instructions in the manual and while standing in the room with the receiver the second #2 remote I have keeps replacing my #1 remote. What gives. Does the receiver not have the ability to have 3 remotes run it? Hope I didn't confuse you guys It's an easy question that I made harder then it has to be.
As always thanks in advance guys :)

You can run as many remotes as you want. You're doing something wrong. Go to my reply to the post "can't program my remote for TV2" under the tech discussions, about 2/3 of the way down right now. The remote address needs to be different for the TV1 & Tv2 remotes.

You need to have the two TV2 remotes use the same code. If you follow the quick set up procedure the remote changes the code in the receiver, but what you need to do is change the code in both remotes to match the code in the receiver. There are instructions on how to do this further on in the setup instructions.

Good luck and keep trying - it took me a couple of tries to get it right.

Okay so I tied this multiple times and I still can't get a second remote to work for tuner #2. If I'm standing in the room when I change the address or try to add the second remote for tuner #2 It keeps changeing the remote for tuner #1. What gives. So i walked out of the room and tried the second remote for tuner #2 and it doesn't change tuner #1's address but it also will not work on tuner #2. I have address at 1 for tuner 1 and address 2 for tuner #2. When I'm standing in the room with the receiver it keeps changeing tuner 1 to remote address #2. I'm confused. It is possably the remotes UHF signal is not working? I'm a bit stumped.

Evidently the EXTRA 6.3 is now on remote address #1. That's why it keeps changing TV1's address in the room with the receiver--it uses BOTH IR and UHF. So try this........
Go to the TV that's been using TV2's tuner and fire it up. Take the 6.3 remote that has been controlling TV2 and hit MENU twice. The SYS INFO screen will come up. Now take the EXTRA 6.3 you want to program and.........
1.Press and hold the SAT button untill all the mode buttons light up. Then release it.
2.Enter your #2 with the EXTRA remote.
3.Press the POUND (#) key---bottom right of keypad. SAT should flash 3 times.
4.Now press RECORD.
5.That should do it! The remote address on the info screen should remain as it was. TV1-#1, TV2-#2 but that extra remote SHOULD now control TV2. Hit the SLECT key to get off the info screen and try it!

Hope this helps, let us know.

Tried this to the "T" and still no dice. The remotes have the exact same part# on the back and the same revision 6.3 the onlyudifference I see is the chip on the bottom of the remote that I can't get to work is black and says UHF. Any ideas as to what else to try? The one that does work is blue and has a black #2 on it. that is the only difference I see.

Remove the battery cover and slide the black chip out. The flip side 'should' be blue. That's where you need to be.

That was the issue. I took the chip out and turned it around and it worked fine. Does that toggle that remote from IR to UHF. I'm thinking when the black chip was facing up the remote was just in IR mode? That is the way it seemed to be acting. None the less simple fix! Thanks for the input again as always guys/gals! :)

That black chip allows you to control side 1 with UHF. I have mine set up that way. I have my HD in the living room and split to my bedroom.

129 has dropped!!!!
