721 locked up after new update.

My 721 downloaded the new update last night and indicated that I should power it off. After I did this it started to install itself and got as far as "flashing" before it displayed "Found Bad Sector". After a while it displayed "Bad Download. Install error code=11. The receiver was still working at this point. I then did a reboot and it took a very long time "verifying the hard drive" after which it locked up with no video and all buttons non-responsive. I have tried all three reboot methods with the same result. Any ideas?

Exact same thing happened to me. Unplugged for a good minute or so and then plugged back in. It finally took off installed the new software but lost 50 hrs of programs on the drive. Yuk! Tech support blamed me leaving it on for the bad sector. I think it was there software. Good luck
