Somebody settled a dispute

Also, handful of new HD locals switched from SD.

Took em like a year plus after the owners signed a new deal...but now even less pressure to get an OTA dongle for a bit.

This is strange. We had the Kansas City CBS channel as our imported channel since we don't have a CBS channel in the St. Joe DMA. However, as of Friday, we now have the Topeka, KS channel. I know that KCTV in KC is a Meredith channel, but why would they switch if KCTV was never blacked out. Are there different rules for channels imported from neighboring DMA's?

Short markets which it is called where you live Dish can import a channel for a neighbor city and has no obligation or commitment in which channel they import. Now saying that Dish would select a significant viewed channel over one that is not

We have KCTV from Kansas City is back now, but guide still says WIBW. It is good to know that if they would have blacked out, I still would have had a CBS station. I guess that is an advantage of being in a short market.

My market does not have a CW channel. But we do get a 2 CW feeds one from NY and one from Florida. Check the 6000 range on your menu for something labeled as CW

I was wondering which affiliates Dish is using for CW short markets, with the Tribune stations being blacked out.

WGN is not available in Chicago. There is no programming in it's slot.

The Florida station is labeled as CW I never paid attention. For MY affiliate they use WSBK also in the 6000 range OK I just checked its under the Tribune broadcasting showing the channel was removed

Interesting. In Toledo, Dish used to include WPIX, but I entered a Toledo zip code at dishpromise.com, and it does not show that Toledo is affected by any disputes, so I was wondering if Dish was substituting a different affiliate instead.

In the Traverse City area some people have WPIX as well. I think it depended on when you started service. The bar down the street has WPIX as well. I have a Miami feed labeled as CW when it was there

WPIX has been blacked out for weeks. That doesn't work as CW anymore
