6x8 multiswitch.. take the place of diplexing?

What are the other 2 inputs designed to accept on the 6x8 multiswitch? If it is OTA or Cable, what do you need to use on the other end to separate the signals?

I thought diplexers were out of the question for 5LNB dish?

If so, couldn't I replace my current diplexer solution with a 6x8 multiswitch (even though I only have 4 receivers), and put diplexers on the end of all the lines to separate the signals?

I believe the other two inputs are for the additional sat's at 72.5 and 95 degrees. You cannot use them for OTA or cable input. Diplexers are not an option

you can use a 6x8 with a phase 3 dish also.

It's cable, not OTA.

And it's a necessity.

Run new coax from the second floor to the basement.. not so easy.

There is another switch you can use. It's 5x4 . That one has cable/antenna input . But you have only 4 outputs from that switch .....

I thought you had to use the 6x8 if you were using the 5lnb dish.
