I was looking at my find last fall and it looks a lot smaller than a 8ft. I think it's a 6 footer. I still haven't actually measured it. You guys finding some decent feeds have 8,10 and 12 footers.

I still have tree issues. Can this be put on the roof without rebuilding my house? what is that ap for the iPhone that'll tell you what you can see? I don't have one but I was hoping to ask a friend to run it for me. Does anybody in the Far North St Paul area wanna help.

and I need a g/v -box right?

I just missed out on the dishes from the old Main Event Bar in Moundsview. Storm ripped up the building and the antennas but I was too slow to grab the LNBs

Well, get on the stick!
Any intelligent conversation needs that dimension.

What specifically are you looking for?
If it's high FEC S2, then that's the hardest.
If you want something easy for a 6'er, now's the time to find out.

Sure, but the two favorite methods are a tall pole supported off the side of the house, and a NPRM sitting on a flat roof.
Both have been discussed at length here on the forum.

Would that maybe be:

I like the Gbox in my signature.
Read the review we have here on the forum:

You snooze, you looze!

If you're going to work with that small a dish, best to optimize the feedhorn.
So, no dual-band solutions. No Ku, just C-band.

An inexpensive solution would be the C2 at SatelliteAV.
Two output C-band LNBF.
The new ESX-242 over at WSI may be equally good, but we've yet to get a side-by-side shoot out between the two.

If you're going for the harder to get high FEC signals, then try a C-only orthomode feed over at Impakt Products.
They have inexpensive LNBs, as does WSI (and his dealers).
Or look to eBay for some Norsat LNBs at around $50 each.

Next step up the food chain would be a 7½ or 8 foot dish (or bigger)
And you could transfer your ortho to it, if you invest in one now.
Though, probably a C2 would be fine on the bigger dish. (?)

It is a 6ft dish, its a chapparell, it has the small hole mesh, c only lnb with that big plastic cone on it. It has the actuator that looks like a giant bike tire pump. I'm sure it was a kit, matched set.

So I could put that on a tall pole next to the house? how do I tweak stuff then?
