Hi all,
I have a Mitsu 65" HDTV that is HD capable but does NOT have the HD converter inbuilt. TV is about 18 months old. I love my DP501 but want to go to a 921 when available.

I have a few questions.
Do I need to buy a HD decoder besides the 921?

If so, are there better decoders out there than the one Mitsu sells? Any recommendations?

Are the network shows on the Dish Local stations that SAY they are in HD NOT REALLY in HD and must be gotten with off air antenna?

Since I can't get a 921 soon, can I go ahead and get the decoder and off air antenna and at least watch local HD stuff until the 921 is available? I will need this stuff anyway, right?

Any help appreciated, especially in pointing me to a GOOD decoder box if I need one.

Thanks - Terry

The 921 has an HD decoder built-in, no need to buy a separate box. You can hood an antenna to it and get OTA local stations. Of course you have to sub to dishnetworks HD package to get their stations like Discovery-HD and HDNet.

811 installed. 6000 sold for $500! this is insane

Best HDTV DVR 2004 award goes to the HD Tivo
