622 Menu Sloooooooow

Noticed tonight that while moving around in my 622 dvr menus and other areas that the box was responding to button presses on the remote much slower. Id say 2-3 times slower.

Anything to look at that might be causing this?

I would try a reboot. This normally solves the problem for me.

I thought about that but I read a post that stated it reboots every night with the update. I think Ill follow your advice after this and reboot it weekly.Question, what in the world does a reboot fix that causes the slowdown. Is it a memory leak or something of sorts as with older windows os's.

I'd read that it reboots every night but I'm not so sure about that.... Set the update for a time when you're around and see if it really does a complete reboot.

I suspect it's a memory leak type issue that is "solved" by reboots.

I'm pretty confident that it does a full reboot every night as the fan comes on super loud as it does with a normal reboot and the lights flash the same way. As far as why reboots are needed I have no clue. However, after using a lot of electronics over the years I've leaned that a reboot will solve simple problems more times than not. Glad it worked for you.

It was on from 7am to 9pm that day, longest its ever been on, maybe that had something to do with it.

"On" ?? It's always on.... I doubt that you pull the plug on it when you're not using it.

Meant in operation. Dunno if that has anything to do with it vs being in a static condition for the day.
