622, jumps to "LIVE TV"

On a few occasions I've rewound a show maybe 10 seconds or 20 seconds (using the 10-sec back button typically) and within the minute or so, it jumps ahead to live TV. It even pops up the "LIVE TV" graphic. My wife says it happens "all the time".

Have others seen this ??

I considered the fact that a neighbor may have Dish and they push the live tv button on their remote but this happens on TV1, which is IR, so the signal should be harder to reach my receiver vs if it were UHF but more importantly, we NEVER get channel changes, guide popping up, etc.

Fast forward and rewind have been totally hosed since L4.xx came out. What you describe is just one of the symptoms.

Don't even bother trying to use the frame-by-frame functions.

i had 2 to 3 to customers 622 act up like that..... i just left it that way none of the customer really cared at that time... i told them its known issue.

Yeah, mine does some crazy stuff rarely. I tuned over to a program being recorded that was about 10 minutes into it, i tried to rewind to the beginning and after hitting the rewind button once, it jumped all the way to the beginning.

I then went to use the skip forward to get to the start of the show and it went all the way BACK to live. Once I repeated the steps it was fine. Definitely buggy, but not too often for me.

I've seen the reports about "jerky" FF and REW but can't say I'm having any trouble with those. I considered this issue different, to be honest.

My wife also mentioned that my 5-yr old daughter will pause a show to eat lunch and while she's eating, it will have un-paused itself. When she tries to rewind to where she was, it doesn't let her. Not sure of the details on that (the buffer is emptied ?).

The buffer is only an hour. How long is she attempting to leave it paused?

I also had the same thing happen for the first time (that I know of) last night. My wife uses the pause feature all the time. The program was 30-40 minutes behind "live tv" when it jumped to live tv all by itself. It stayed on the same channel and continued to show the current program but I was unable to get any response to my remote control, couldn't change channels, bring up the guide, or even turn off the receiver. Had to do a front panel reset to get everything back. Don't know if this is related, but I also had to do a front panel reset this morning when I turned everything on. I only had the "dish network" screen saver on my tv. Pressing select didn't do anything, nor did pressing the power button on my remote.

Even if it was paused for an hour it doesn't jump to live tv, it just starts playing from the pause point (happens to my wife a lot since she can be on the phone with our oldest daughter a lot longer than that).
Has yours ever locked up when this happens like mine did?

Back to my original post and the scenario that I've seen, the same thing has happened to me at least two times, literally exactly the same. I rewind 10-20 seconds back in time and once play is re-started, it jumps back to live TV within a minute.
