622 Dead :(

Last Sunday morning was watching sat and the update screen came on wanting to update. I went ahead and let it run, afterwards the picture came back but with no sound. Reset the 622 and still picture on every channel but no sound.
Called tech support and they of course had me do the reset stuff. and still nothing. The tech then had me unplug the HDMI cable after plugging it back in have no picture or sound. The tech then had me try patch cables to the AV ports. Again no picture or sound. So they are sending me out a new 622. I never had any problem with my current one until this.
Is there a way that I can get my saved recordings off of my current 622 and transfer them to the new one? Could I possibly swap the hard drives when the new one arrives or are they married to the specific appliance?

You should not swap the drives. You could get yourself in serious trouble. Unfortunately, you will lose all recordings.

If you have a computer with SATA hard drive interface and are technically minded, look at the PVRExplorer Yahoo group, there may be some hope there.
