I activated my 622 today. All went very smooth. No issues at all with the installation.

I have a Dish500 @ 110°/119°, a Dish300 @ 61.5°, and OTA, so I did not need the Dish1000 or 129° at this time.
Turns out it is just as well, as my local installer said they are still about 10-14 days away, at least here in the mid-west.

Only issue I had, and it was small, was when I called Dish to activate the receiver.
I was immediately transferred by the CSR to a Level 2 HD Tech.

Upon reviewing the account, he said he could not activate the 622 until the scheduled work order date of 2/28, because I would then have 7 receivers on the account, and he said the maximum allowed is 6. I'm not sure if that's true, but it didn't matter anyway.

At the time I called, I had a 921, a 211, a 811, and 3 301's active on the account. I told him to deactivate all 3 of the 301's, which would put the account receiver count to 6.
He told me both the 921 and 622 count as 2 receivers each. To which I pointed out, this would mean, prior to any changes tonight, I have 7 active receivers.
He said, I see your point, would you mind holding while I see what can be done to get this activated for you tonight.
He came back on the line, and said, the system would not let him deactivate the 301's until the 2/28 work order was closed.
I said, well then, close it, and then deactivate the 301's. I told him I don't need an installer, the only thing left to do is activate the 622, it's connected and ready.
He agreed, but after closing the work order, he then said the system would not let him deactivate the 301's, because I had the advance purchase for MLB Season Ticket. He admitted, he had no idea why.
I said take it off, and then, but it back on.

He said, OK, would you mind holding a few minutes while I get this all done.
He was very knowledgeable and very professional.
By the time he came back on the line (about 4 minutes), the 622 was activated and all channels were up.
He summarized what he had done...I said thank you and goodnight.

Ya can't make this stuff up!

A couple of quick observations of the 622
-coming off a 921, it's nice to be able to set the pad default from other than 1/3.
-the Dish Season Pass looks interesting. I have to read up on it, but it looks like a feature which allows recording of either, all episodes, or new episodes, and there is a priority feature available for timers.

Lots of interesting things in the menu. I'm going to explore some more tomorrow, after I'm done playing musical receivers....921 goes where the 211 is, 211 goes where the 811 is, 811 goes where a 301 is....blahblahblah

I'm also going to connect my 250gb USB External Drive...just want to see what, if anything happens.
