hello, 1st post after searching here. I was having problems with rush and a few other hd channels on 129 transponder 6. setup is a 1000.2 with a 622 and 2 211s. tech was here yesterday, was told to add a 500 at 61.5 so he did that. 61.5 signals in the 90's or so. i get the clownfish network (hd demo channel) listed in my guide. My question, is there a way for say rush (channel 9476) to use 61.5 and not 129 ? 6-1-1 on 9476 shows 129. It was showing 61.5 yesterday. I need 129 for my HD locals. i think the 61.5 dish 500 is plugged into the 1000.2 input port.

Thanks for the time,
Joel

welcome :wave from another Twin Citian :)

I think you mean a Dish 1000 because Dish hasnt released the 1000.2

Unfortunatelly if both 61.5 & 129 are used, the deafult is 129 UNLESS the channel is not on 129 and only on 61.5. So the Public Interest channels (9400 area) on 61.5 will show there but any channel that is duplicated on 129 will lock on that satellite.

What kind of signals are you getting on 129 TP6? Do the Mpls HD locals work fine?

He very well could mean the Dish 1000.2, it has been released for several months now. I had mine installed back in January.

As for a way to force 61.5 over 129, the only solution we have come up with so far is to put aluminum foil over the lnb that points at 129, this will of course make you lose any channels that are on 129 and not mirrored on 61.5, so it will not work for you. Not sure of what else to do.

I wonder if covering the 129 eye with duct tape will do. Of course you'll then need to run check switch so the receivers don't see 129 in the switch matrix. But yeah, like rockandchelle said the only way to the receivers to see 61.5 instead of 129 is to cover the 129 eye.

129 t6 was like 50-55, lower on the wobble. a few clouds and a rain drop or 2 it was in the 30's. reaim yesterday made a difference I think. setup is only a few weeks old at best. HD locals were just fine. I use the off-air tuner, but often record 2 or more prime time shows in hd.
Thanks for the help, doesnt sound like a winning situation.

I run a checkswitch with the 129 lnb on the dish 1000.2 covered and the 61.5 sat dish plugged into the in port of the triple lnb . When I am through it will recognize 110/119/x/61.5. I can then remove the aluminum foil and it will only see the 61.5 sat instead of the 129 sat. IT works just fine until you run another check switch. I wouldn't use duct tape as you might actually want to use the 129 lnb next year when they launch a replacement sat at the 129 location.

I have both 61.5 and 129 connected continuously. The receivers do not always default to 129. I am always able to watch every available channel. The receivers seem to have a mind of their own! Sometimes they are on 129 and sometimes 61.5.

Ditto . There is no ryhme or reason which sat it will use for the national hd channels with a dish 1000.2 and a side sat to 61.5 .
