It would be great if after the sale some of these stations went FTA:

Broadcaster That Owns More Than 60 TV Stations Is Up for Sale Reuters, WSJ
A television station operator with more than 60 stations in its portfolio is putting itself up for sale, according to media reports. Reuters and The Wall Street Journal report that Nexstar Broadcasting has retained a financial adviser to seek out potential buyers.

The company, which owns and operates more than 60 TV stations in markets such as Salt Lake City and Hagerstown, Md., said it plans to explore strategic alternatives that could result in a sale, Reuters says.

It's hired Moelis & Co. as a financial adviser and Kirkland & Ellis LLP as legal counsel.

The Irving, Texas-based company could attract more than $1 billion in a sale, reports The Wall Street Journal. (The WSJ is behind a pay wall and not all readers may be able to access the story.)

WFFT in Fort Wayne is a nexstar owned channel they lost their FOX programing to Granite broadcasting here recently.

I do not expect any of their stations to end up on satellite but here is a list of their o&o plus msa stations

The story really has nothing to do with FTA at all. Pretty much a poorly run company has not made a profit in 12 years and is considering preserving shareholder value by liquidating its stations, probably market by market to other broadcasters.

WJET 24.1 is a ABC affiliate and WFXP 66.1 is FOX in Erie.

They share facilities and the news crew but neither one of them have subchannels.

It would be cool if new owners would add a subchannel or 2 like Antenna TV! ;)

Nexstar is against subchannels so I hope WTAJ is sold to a company that is more friendly. We got MeTV and THIS so far and I would love Antenna TV.
