522 Remote (IR) for 501

Since a few months I am having a few problems with my remote for my BEV5100 (aka 501).

I want to replace it but I was thinking of getting a 522 remote instead (I prefer the layout). Either one listed below:

522 TV1 Remote [IR Only]
522 TV1/TV2 Remote [IR and UHF Pro]

I know I won't be able to use it in UHF Pro, but IR will work right?
