50 New National HD Channels in 50 Days?

We are to get 50 new national HD channels on Dish by the end of the year. Isn't that right?

Will we get one a day for the next 50 days, or do you think they will come in increments. How about all at once? Wow! These are exciting times for Dish HD subscribers.

All complaints about Dish HD quantity will cease by January 1. Happy times are almost here, and with this prediction fulfilled, I won't be leaving as I had originally planned.

How about Dish each day announces a new HD channel that is coming 'SOON' for the next 50 days?

At least it would follow Dish's form and for that matter pre-2008 DirecTV form...

First, they now claim to have 114 with 14 HD VODs (never mind they only have one). So that means 36.

Hate to say it since you are so excited, but Dish already meets their claim of UP TO 150 channels (as others have pointed out). They MAY not add a thing, then again they might. I just would lower my expectations a bit

By my reckoning there are about 50 true HD channels available that Charlie could add if he were so inclined, but don't count on it.

Yes but that assumes that it is even possible to reach 150. If they can but dont have the channels yet (contract problems or whatever)... well ok thats what "up to" means. But if they said it knowing that it was impossible thats something else. It's a subtle difference between whether they will do something vs whether they can do something.

Ciel 2 will have 16 CONUS TPs that can be used solely for HD. With moving of internationals off 61.5, it can match - 112 HDs
110 - Likely to eventually have least 4 TPs for HD - 28 HDs

That's 140. However, on 61.5 and 129, Dish takes 2 TPs and puts a bunch of part time RSNs on. Plus, they are likey to differ 129 v 61.5.

So thay theoretically will have the capacity for 140 HDs, more since they count part time RSNs. Plus, they count HD VOD.

I take up to as in, theoretically there has to be some way for someone to get 150 channels (doesn't mean everyone will)
