Lets see...its a beautiful Sunday afternoon in MN
12 above...0 with the windchill

LETS WORK ON A PROJECT :)

I have a DirecPC dish pointed at 95. If you've never seen one, there are 2 LNB's on it. One for 99 (for the internet) and a little LNB at 101 for DirecTv.
I am using it at G3 and got bored..I wanted to eliminate a couple dishes :)

I had a DBS LNB on 91 for a while now (for ExpressVu which I no longer have) and wanted one for 82 (for the audio). So I worked on this.

Getting the 82 to work was a little hard. I had a "Y" adapter and put 2 LNB's on it. 91 worked, but 82 didn't....apparently the "Y" isnt the true 9 degrees different.

So I put ANOTHER LNB in between it....I wanted to put a KU band in, but its aimed at 86.5...which wouldnt work for AMC3 :(
Put some Red Green specialty (duct tape) around it and a big ol hose clamp and now I have on
95-CCTV 90-92 quality..thewre hasnt been a North Dakota game lately to see what that gets :)
91-84% on most TP's...99 on the N3 ones
82-70-75% on most TP's

So here are a couple pictures.

Back view
View of it not hooked up
View with wires connected (my favorite...it shows ALL my dishes) :)

I had it setup with 91,95, 110 & 119 but couldnt get a band clamp to fit :(
(I put the 119 and 110 on the G10 later in the day)

Great pictures Iceberg from a "TRUE" hobbyist, I still have two or three of these beasts left time to start playing with them again. Thanks for the best pictures in a LONG time. Well done and thanks for sharing!

I have some more projects up my sleeve :) (as long as we get no snow)

I'm just happy the camera worked that well :D

There used to be a 5th dish for 91...but integrated that into the DirecPC.

I am going to try to see if I can get 110, 119 and maybe 101 or 103 on the other side :)

Mike Kohl at Global Communications has pictures of multiple lnb's on a test dish he did a few years ago. I wouldn't mind having one of those dishes.

I have to show these pics to my wife. She will get a charge of out them. I just pulled a P* dish and LNB that a neighboor did not want.

So now I have three P* dishs to play with. I can't wait for my switchs to show up.

Thanks for the pics.

What does Mike sell that setup for? Is it just as easy to make you own? It like some electrical conduit with various other hardware will do the trick.

Read up on the whole concept of multiple feed dishes
on the Global website at www.global-cm.net
There is now an installation detail for a modified 84 cm elliptical antenna
(Channel Master Primestar type) that is UPS shippable in the 70 pound class
(saves at least 40 bucks versus UPS on a 90 cm antenna), and you can
decide for yourself if your pipe bending skills are up to the challenge.
We do offer a kit, and there are various options / depending upon
which - and - how many satellites you are trying to receive.
Drop me an Email if you have any specific questions on what
can realistically be expected.

looks like some good stuff Mike!

I was just trying to rid a dish from the roof....actually I wanted the 82/91 dish to be moved to 61.5 :)

I had a LNB at 91 for a while...and just added the 82 over the weekend.

Ice,

I'm getting into this show alittle late, but, I have a DirecPc 39x23 dish and would like to get 105, 110, & 119. Is this doable???? Planning on using the DPC lnb and have two dual legacy lnbs with the y yoke to attach. If it might work, would the dish have to be pointed for 105 and then just work with the other lnbs to get a max signal?
thanks

I reopened thread after talking with the poster....there was some miscommunication

boogieman has Dish Network and his locals came online at 105. He doesnt want to get a SD and wondered if his DirecPC dish would work for the locals and add a couple LNB's for 110/119 so in essence he has a Legacy Superdish, whcih can be done (need some wood and hose clamps).

I did apologize and explained that when people bring up old threads and ask about 110/119/105/121/61.5/148/129 we have to ASSUME its hack talk. Since he has a subscription to Dish, that makes a big difference (but since it wasnt mentioned that goofed it up) :)

Boogieman
Which locals do you qualify for? The reason I ask is some locals moved off of 105 and onto 129, which is a stronger satellite and you can use your existing setup :)

I currently have 5 lnbs on my Phase 2 dish.. one extra on each side.. unfortunately, I had to take it down for the impending move.. but I have 119, 110, 101 (dummy), 91, and 82 all on one dish..

I probably wont put it back up however.. I am going to try to keep the dishes to a minimum this turn around..

Berg,

I qualify for Columbia SC (WIS-NBC) and Myrtle Beach (WPDE-ABC)(WBTW-CBS)(WFXB-FOX). That would be soooo nice if I didn't have to mess with all this.

thanks
