4y old 301 loses all channels. What could be wrong?

I have a 4y old 301 which was inactive for a while and then I reactivated it as additional receiver 3 days go. DISH guys told me they will extend by blue smart card for twenty days and are mailing me a yellow one. However over the weekend the receiver stops getting signal at all, I did the soft and hard reset, smart card reset and did check switch and it is not getting any signal from any satellite. I also have an 811 which is working perfect. I did a receiver switch and the 811 works fine in the bedroom but the the 301 still does not work in the living room. This seems to me then a receiver problem. My question is, even with an expired smart card, shouldn't I be able to do a check switch test? If that is the case, does it mean I need to change the receiver? Does DISH do any promotion for exchanging receivers which are beyond warranty?

My set up is 811 and 301 on a DP 34 switch and I have a DisphPro 500 and a Dish with single LNB for 61.5.

yes you should be able to do a check switch and should get channel 101. We had a receiver that the blue card ran out on before we could replace it with the yellow card. You will get Channel 101

If your receiver is defective, just call Dish Network technical. The out of warranty repair fee is $49.99. They can do an advanced exchange for an additional $14.95. In the advanced exchange program, they will send you a refurbed receiver with a prepaid UPS label to return the defective receiver. If the defective receiver is not returned in a timely manner, they will hit your credit card for the price of the receiver.

BETTER STILL sign up for the DHPP(Digital Home Protection Plan) for $5.99/Mo. and get the 301 replaced free. Then cancel the DHPP after you have a working receiver. Use the benefits DISH offers to your advantage. :) :) :)
