4K Mini Over Cat5e

Has anyone done 4K over cat5?

I am guessing this can be done for a lot of money because of the bandwidth needed for the video.

I am wanting to have all receivers in a closet about 75ft away.

My current setup I use the Monoprice units that send HDMI over two cat6 cables and it also has IR with it and they work great.

I am looking for ideas to upgrade to 4K.

intuition says no, the 4k requirements are pretty strict on the C61k, but since its just converting the HDMI signal into a different signal and back again i could be wrong.

just make sure they are hdmi2.0 and hdcp 2.2 compliant

Look up a brand called Gefen they really great products. They are a little expensive but well worth it.

I think you may have to use cat7. The better grade the cable the better these work

I've researched it and cat5 will work fine but I would use cat6

sheilded probably wouldnt hurt if you can find a ground source on each side lots of EM noise in homes.

I got a customer doing the same thing, but he is using cat 7

It depends on the converters, as long as they are rated for 4k it should work, but obviously the better the cable the better the likelihood of functionality
