I have a tad of a problem. I just signed up with dishnetwork and found out that my locals are on one satellite, VOOM and Sky Angel are on a second satellite, most std channels are on a third satellite, and some of the top 120 package are on the fourth. In addition, I don't know which satellite has dish's HD package (HDNet, Discovery HD etc.,) or where the HD movie packages (HBO, Showtime) are located.

I have subscribed to the local package for Rapid City, SD; the VOOM channels; The HD package (Not the one with HBO etc); and the top 60. I may go with the top 120 package if I don't like sky angel.

I just need to know which sat. provides which programing. So I can figure out which one of the four satellites not to point at, since the receivers I will be getting can only tune into 3 of the 4 satellites.

Whew! IF that made sense to you, and you can help, I'm all ears.

He said the two Hi Def receivers will be ... 811's. Did I get those numbers right. I've been a DTV subscriber for way too long!!

I am not sure what the standard def receiver will be, though that one will only have to tune to 3 of the four satellites. Since it will just be used for sky angel, the top 60's programing, and possibly the programing from 119 anyway. The locals, which are on another satellite aren't going to be needed on this receiver.

HD channel list is at http://ekb.dbstalk.com/107. Below that list is a link to the giant Dish Channel Chart. HBO-HD and Sho-HD are included in their respective SD packages, neither is part of either HD package.

The 6000 does support the SW64/SW21 cascade for 4 satellites and is SuperDISH compatible. Shouldn't be any problem using it with a DPP44, not that a new customer would get a 6000.

Hey! I've got a big problem here guys. The person doing the install called me today. He said there is no way to do a four sat to a receiver hook up. What do I do gents? I don't know where he is getting his info from, but...

Should I just go online and find the item that I need and install it after he leaves?? I'm all ears.

you are dealing with an RSP down there in SD, your Rapid locals come off of 148, dish regular programming comes off of 110 and 119( 500 dish) and Voom comes off of 61.5. Hence you will have 3 dishes. He is flat out wrong about not being able to do 4 orbital locations call and speak to his supervisor. You will need clear LOS for all locations with being near the black hills could be a problem for you. But if you do expect to shell out an extra 100 or 2 for the 61.5 and the DPP 44 switch

E* is offering the installation of the 61.5 for the V* channnels for $99 with a D500 and for $199 with a SuperDish. The reason that the SD is more is because they will use the DP+44. If this guy doesn't know what he is doing, call some one else.....

Dish Dude,

I had voom from the 61.5 location when I had voom. LOS to it is great.

Now, if I get that switch, I saw one online, do I just hook all the LNBs into it, then it will work?

Oh Great! Sounds like this isn't going to be easy. Is it? Going to get messy. I called Dishnetwork tech support. They told me that my installer was correct.

Heeeeelp!

They all have to be DP switches just put in 4 DP singles or duals and you're set up. 148 is real low in your area to the sw, comes in at an elevation of 22 or 24 degrees down there. dish pro a bandstacking technology. dish tech support is wrong, you can have 4 orbital locations. I will PM you
