Hi Guys,

Converting from FTA, and I am only locking onto Sat 110 with the 311 receiver. I am using a 4' dish, with a two Digiwave LNB's (110 & 119) and I have a Zinwell SAM 4x4 switch (supposedly DN approved).

I was told that my problem is the compatibilty with the switche & LNB's and I could avoid dishpro stuff (LNB & switch) but just buying a "Legacy Switch".

How accurate is this, and what is the make/ model I should be looking for?

Thx.

PS. Just trying to find the cheapest option for now. Will upgrade to the dishpro stuff in time, when the money is less funny.

you need a SW44 then...a 4x4 switch wont work

(oh and converting from FTA huh? What you had wasnt free to air)

As long as you will ONLY EVER have ONE receiver, a SW21 will work, behind a 4-port voltage passing high frequency splitter.

Again, splitters WON'T work in most cases but will, for a single receiver in some cases.

If you want the option of adding more receivers, the SW44 is what you need.

Yep. Thanks much fallaz.

I just came accross the sw-44 on ebay, but they listed it as non-DN compatable, so that's why i ended up here.

I'll google it, and try to find where I can cop it. Will let you know how things work out.

The SW44 works with Legacy LNB's....its pretty much identical tot he 4x4 switch you have but a BIG difference

4x4 switches use 22k switching so it would work for Directv since they use 22k switching
Dish uses their own "switching technique" so you need the SW44 to switch to the 2nd LNB (which in most cases is 110)

It has to say SW44 and usually DIsh is the only one who has them

Microyal might have one but there are DIsh models on Ebay

Mix cable internet with satellite?
