I have seen a few posts about it... looks like it is true.

Showtime Offer for Existing Customers
Showtime is currently promoting a nationwide campaign through October 31, 2007, and DISH Network customers will be able to participate in this offer and receive Showtime FREE for 3 months. Existing customers who don’t currently subscribe to Showtime can add it and will receive the promotional offer. They would need to call and cancel it BEFORE the 3-month period ended if they did not want to continue to receive the programming. If they call after the free 3-month period, they would be charged going forward.

I haven't subscribed to a movie channel for YEARS. Plus I don't watch many movies. I'll have to check their lineup to see if its worth filling my DVR up.

Showtime is the worst of all the movie channels. Starz and Cinemax are doing a lot better than HBO and Showtime. I'm talking about movies not mini series and shows, just plain movies.

Yes, their movies are lame. Unfortunately, I've gotten hooked on Dexter.

I saw the Ad and trigger icon the other day. If you take the 3 month free offer and then cancel at the end of the 3 months do you get charged the $5 downgrade fee?

Didnt read all the posts but YES call dish free showtime for 3 months as long as you have not had showtime in the past 6 months

I just did this and got all 3 credits up front, so it appears as though I could cancel right away keep the credits and not have to be paying for showtime the next 2 months...

I got the same-3 credits up front. Does that mean we will be charged the next 2 months if we do not cancel??

well yeah since all the credits got applied on month 1, months 2 and 3 will have the showtime charge with no credit.

So I guess there's no force to keep it for 3 months, or else they would've credited once a month, right?

I asked the csr about a service charge when I cancel and he said there would be none since it was free. I am going to call in next week to cancel. I just wanted another hd channel. I do not watch this one anyway:D

I believe today's the last day for the 3 free months of Showtime if anybody who hasn't signed up is still interested.

I canned it last week, not much going on with showtime.
Yea, you got that right. The programming stinks. I still have another month of the 3 free month promo and it will get turned off. The only programming that might be worth watching is the late night (3am)semi-porn :D.

2 dish setup?
