I found out if a 2nd dish is installed, I won't be charged an additional $12.00 each month for local stations. Anyone who has this setup, can you please tell me exactly how it's wired to the house cable? Two dishes into one down lead? TIA
I found out if a 2nd dish is installed, I won't be charged an additional $12.00 each month for local stations.
I moved to Arizona, & brought my equipment with me. When I talked to Dish net, I was asked if I want a 2nd dish for local stations, that would be Phoenix area.
I'm finding out the word dish, & antenna, are can used interchangeably. I always thought of them as two separate things.
"Antenna" is an all inclusive term for devices used to receive radio frequency signals, ignoring that the term is also applied to some insect "feelers", etc. "Dish" is a term applied to specific antenna designs that use a shallow "dish" shaped reflector to capture and concentrate weaker radio frequency signals on an antenna. A satellite TV antenna for instance, is actually located at the back of the LNB's (Low Noise Block converter) feedhorn where it receives the stronger concentrated signals focused on it by the dish. My description overly simplifies a lot of complex technical information, but I think I hit the basics at least.
The plot thickens. Dish has two "arcs". The Phoenix area dish locals may be on a different arc than the dish configuration you brought with you. What DMA were you in before? (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
I’m in Mesa, what part of the Valley are you in now? I use my OTA with my Dish, but I kept the Dish locals as well. I prefer to record the OTA version of the shows I like, but keep PTAT on just in case. Vegas would be Western Arc as well, so the Arc isn’t the issue at all.I was in Las Vegas, now SW Az. They didn't change me over to Phoenix on install here. They should have change us to Phoenix, but didn't. We requested it later, with the time changes I thought it might get confusing. Actually I preferred LV, cus will barely any mention from their news. I get pretty good OTA reception a simple inside antenna. I'm a long way from Phoenix, so I guess I'm hitting a repeater some where.
Wouldn’t that put you in the Tucson DMA?As I said SW Az., no where near the valley.
Or as my grandpa used to call it, an aerial."Antenna" is an all inclusive term for devices used to receive radio frequency signals
We recently went back there for an event at Rousters Roost also went back to Aunt Chilladas. (Nearly Mesa in Tempe)I’m in Mesa....
