Nice article on the Detroit Tigers and the 35-5 start they had 25 years ago!. Wow time fly's. I was ten back then, that was a great start, dont know if a start has been matched like that since then

I followed the Tigers closely (as close as possible) during those early years in my military career while being stationed across the globe. I was a fresh-faced 21-year old back in '84 when the Tigers set the baseball world on fire. I remember thinking the Tigers World Series victory was just as sweet as back in '68 (I was only five back then) and that we were going to win at least a couple more championships before the decade was over. Looking back, who would have thought we would be waiting on another World Series Championship here in 2009, the Pistons would win several NBA championships, and the Red Wings would pull themselves from the bottom on the NHL ranks and become the model franchise in all of professional sports for the past two decades.

Of course, the Lions are still the Lions...

I was 26 that season. Remember it like it was a couple of seasons ago. Where did all the time go? I was changing my oldest daughter's diapers that year. I'm changing my youngest daughter's this year. That may be a good sign!

Paul - Here's hoping you're not wondering who will be changing your diapers the next time the Tigers get off to a start like that... :D :up

I was 10 that year, but I remember it. I always like the Tigers because of Sparky.

Its to bad the relationship with Mr. Illitch got strained. They did have day for him after he was elected to the hall of fame, with Illitch not there I believe. He went in as a Red, to the hall which I really have no problem with those were some great teams! though it would have been nice as a Tiger :)

Jake Peavy to White Sox done deal..waiting for Peavy OK!

The NBA Draft Lottery- How important is it to win it?
