What are the Stanley Cup Playoffs? :( Being a Blue Jacket fan, I don't quite understand what you are talking about.

Lets go Pens

As long as the Jackets are owned and run by the same people I would NOT hold my breath until the Jackets even get into the playoffs.

I don't think ownership is the problem but they do need to clean house in the GM and president roles. Ownership has shown that they are willing to spend the money to get in talent but the ones running the show operationally are the issue.

The Rangers clinched the #1 seed in the East last night, and will face either Washington or Buffalo in the first round (the Caps still have an outside at the #3 seed as Southeast champs). The Bruins have the #2 seed wrapped up and will most likely play Ottawa. Florida is currently the #3 seed and will more than likely play New Jersey. That leaves Pittsburgh-Philadelphia in a monster 4 vs. 5 first round matchup.

Red Wings and Blues played a playoff game tonight ...

No score going into the 3rd, Wings give up 2 goals on turnovers, one on a 5 minute Power Play.
Trailed with 6 to go in the third.
Franzen scored on a pretty play, 2-1 Blues.
A few minutes later Franzen scores again to tie it at 2.

4-4 OT is always fun, they need to go a full period of 4 on 4 in OT to settle these games, instead of the shut outs.

Anyways, the game goes to a SO and the Wings win and get a HUGE 2 points tonight.

Usually they Wings are in the top so the points at this time are not a huge, but this year they are bouncing around 4-5-6 spots, so they need all they can get.

I like going into the playoffs being ranked 2-4...a lot less pressure since everyone is gunning for #1. There is an amazing about of parity in the league right now...too much if you ask me. Regardless, this years SCP is going to be another nail-biter.

Also, I wasn't too happy when the Wings gave up a short-handed goal on their 5-minutes powerplay. In the olden days we may have scored two-goals during that major penalty...certainly not given one up.

The Jackets can't seem to draft well at all other than Nash and they will not have him after this year.
So who will score?
They have a shot at the first draft choice but with their track record it does not look good there either.
