This $100M dollar deal was quoted earlier as actually being about a 40M dollar deal, seeing they never get close to the end of one anyways.

Where did you get this from? It's effectively a 5 year $80m deal with over $35.5m of that guaranteed the first two years. Plenty of contracts expire in the NFL, this one being front loaded means that if Vick produces there's little reason this one won't go to year 5.

Five reasons to watch the fourth preseason week

Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on August 31, 2011, 10:04 AM EDT

The fourth week of the preseason may not mean much to fans, but it can mean everything to players fighting to make an NFL team.

It’s also going to mean a lot to some rookie quarterbacks looking to improve and to veterans wanting to show they are healthy before the season starts. A few reasons to watch the last preseason week:

1. The Vikings will start Christian Ponder over Joe Webb at quarterback. Ponder, the team’s first round pick, may need a big performance to be the team’s regular season backup. Ponder has struggled for the most part in August.

2. Jahvid Best will return to the field after suffering a concussion in the second exhibition game. It looks like he’ll be ready for Week One.

3. Maurice Jones-Drew makes his preseason debut coming off knee surgery.

4. Titans receiver Kenny Britt, ostensibly the team’s top option, will play for the first time in the preseason.

5. Rookie quarterbacks like Blaine Gabbert and Jake Locker get their last chance to show they developed over the last month. A strong outing from Gabbert would help to put pressure on David Garrard, but Gabbert just hasn’t looked ready yet.

LOL he forgot the electric Taiwan Smith in Oakland. No starters playing this week, so we should be expecting neon at the very least!

Peter King SI predicts the Raiders will go 8-8 and IF everything goes perfect for them(which it rarely does for anyone), they can win 10 games. But doubts anyone will be able to over take the Chargers.

Here is predictions as follows:

San Diego 13-3
KC 9-7
Raiders 8-8
Broncos 5-11

I think he is pretty much on target, but I just don't see the Chargers winning 13 games. More like 10 or 11 at most.

Oakland appears to be even deeper at the position this year. In addition to Darren McFadden, who led them with 1,157 yards rushing and a 5.2 yards-per-carry average, and Michael Bush, who had a team-high eight rushing scores, they added rookie speedster Taiwan Jones, who was averaging 6.2 yards per carry through three preseason games

Peter King also predicted Carolina to be his "surprise team of 2010" and for them to go onto the playoffs. Meanwhile, ol' Peter was WAY off and the Panthers ended up with the #1 overall pick because they were the worst team in football last year...

Moral of the story: Take those predictions with a grain of salt!

why do people pick the chargers every year to do well??? i don't get it. they are the afc's cowboys. every year they're going to the playoffs or superbowl......... they don't do squat.

I'll bet he didn't know a damn thing about Taiwan, until he saw him in the same game we did!!

And the way the Broncos look, if they stay healthy, I'm upgrading my prediction to 7-8 wins this year!

They haven't had much competition in the past 10 years, so it's an easy pick. But you're right, once in the playoffs, SEE YA!! the Dolts!

Cleveland has a very winnable schedule this year- 2 games with the Bengals (who are a potential dumpster fire), the NFC West (which had no teams with a winning record), and the AFC South (not as strong as it was a few years ago).

Young, talented team that play the NFC West seem to make a big leap in wins/losses- last year's Bucs and the '08 Dolphins,
