You have never officiated a sporting contest, have you?

No and what does THAT have to do with this? I played college baseball at a premier college program coached by one of the best baseball coaches in the land...does that I mean I know MORE about baseball than most in here? No... not at all.

That has to be one of the most....never mind. LMAO!

Now I understand why you are so upset about the no fumble call, you don't know the rules!

I know the rule... I just don't LIKE the rule.. BIG difference! I am sure I am not the only one.;)

Or do you need.......me.......to........slow.......it.........down......a.........bit.......?:coffee

It sounds distasteful, but if you view a football game like a war or a battle,it is a sound tactic. Football players have always tried to take out the other teams' best player.

LOL the only problem with this logic is that Williams was their WORST player! If Harbaugh forgets to put a punt returner out there the whole game, the Niners win.

Williams singlehandedly gave the Giants the game.

The Pats cheerleaders are hotter! :luvlove:

Dang, I knew that no cheerleader thing would come back and bite us. Of course, they can't have them... what would you call them the Giant-tettes? AND if they were all really buxom which would quickly devolve into a more family unfriendly term....

How about this? Route for the GMen, leer at the Pats cheerleaders (works for me)

I have a tough time with this because I think the play should not be whistled UNTIL HE IS DOWN. Way too many times, the player is stopped in his tracts...ONLY to have the runner make a fancy move and picks up a bunch of extra yards and/or scores a TD.

If that were the case, then you would negate the whole concept of forward progress..... Once a player is being pushed backwards and is in a defenseless position, the play is blown dead to protect him. He can be bounced backwards and still be considered "live" if he is running, but when he is wrapped up, or is no longer moving forward (ie. backpedalling furiously if a defender is pushing him backwards), then the play is called dead. That is the rule on the books.

Stop me if you heard this one before.

Once Ted Ginn was declared inactive, Williams had a big bullseye on his back as the weakest link in the chain. Next week, it will be Edelford, or whatever his name is... the converted QB who is playing a defensive back. Look for whomever he is covering to get the ball thrown at him.... He looked lost out there vs. the Ravens.

This guy had NO ONE behind him on the depth chart. With Ginn out, this guy was a D- at best option. Turned out to be an F. Couldn't believe he actually held on to that one ball he dove forward to catch. Niners GM at fault for not having another guy off of the practice squad to back him up when it was obvious his confidence was shattered after that first DOINK off his knee.....

THANK YOU SI!!!!! Save our cover, if we get one, for the week AFTER the Super Bowl please. Parcells back in the day used to beg SI to keep the Giants off of the cover as he DID believe in the jinx.

The Giants will probably be on the cover next week when Peter King will picks his favorite team to win the Superbowl.

Like I said, you don't know the rule. If I have to explain why, there is no point in discussing it with you.

If you haven't listened to Ray Lewis' post game locker room speech, you'll want to check this out. WOW!

*EDIT: The NFL appears to have taken it down from YouTube. Boo! Did anyone get to watch it before they took it down? Hopefully NFL.com will repost it. One of the best motivational speeches ever! (And I hate the Rats!)

Here's a partial transcript:

God has never made a mistake, it ain’t about one play.

This year, we did what we were supposed to do, we fought as a team... There will be one Super Bowl champ crowned at the end of this year, that's it. So the way we feel, somebody gonna feel like that tomorrow, and somebody gonna feel like that in a week. That's a fact. And the fact is, we gotta come back and go to work to make sure we finish it next time. That's all we gotta do.

Joe, you played your (butt) off. You hear me, man? I'm telling you, man, don't ever — don't ever — drop your head when it comes to a loss, dog, because there's too much pain outside of this that people are really going through. This right here makes us stronger. Let's understand who we are as a team, let's understand who we are as men, and let's make somebody smile when we walk out of here. We got the opportunity to keep going, men. Let's be stronger as a team, men. Let's be who we are. - Ray Lewis

There's no mistaking who the leader on that team is. You've GOT to hear it in his own words though. Ray Lewis COMMANDED that locker room post-game.
