2010 NBA Playoffs

Oh, one more thing. I'm sick of Shaq. As an offensive threat, he's absolutely worthless. I don't get why we continue in trying to force-feed him time and time again. It's a waste of possession.

We got Shaq for two teams. Orlando and LA. At this point in his career, he's nothing more than a body to defend against other power centers. I'd rather see Big-Z get his minutes. At least he would help rebound, make outside shots and is a way better free throw shooter.

I didn't wanna say I told you so......BUUUTTTTT..........

This would be completely falling into a trap in my opinion. Now you are depending on the REST of the CAVS to trying to outplay the REST of the CELTICS including their "other" players in KG, Allen and Pierce.....NOBODY has a '2nd teir' core to match that. So truth be told, they are better off sticking to the currect game plan because if they decide dedicate their best defensive player and give up their offense.....they could be in deep trouble.

Maybe not verbatim, but this is exactly what I was going to post before I got to your post.

IMO, if the Cavs don't make any adjustments, THEY still win this series. Putting LeBron on Rondo COULD be a fatal mistake

You got a point. One reason why Pierce is so quiet in this series is because LeBron is checking him. If LeBron moves to Rondo, Pierce could light us up. Damn, Bill, why does your team have to be sooo deep!? :)

Very gutty performance by Steve Nash last night. He looked like Quasimodo in the 4th quarter. How do you make shots and pass accurately with only one eye?

Yep!

They need Lebron's offense MORE than they need his defense. Rondo HAD to have that kinda game because others were not completely carrying their weight. He is VERY capable of having that kind of game. Remember, these are 2 of the top 3 teams in team defense in the league. Remember the words "TEAM DEFENSE"....

You're absolutely right. The one-eyed Nash gutted it out for the team. Nash is a great one and deserves the chance he'll finally get in playing for a shot at a Championship.

LOL...... I think the Cavs are deeper. :)

This is how I see the two rosters:

The Cavs (OBVIOUSLY) have the best player

The Celtics have a better 2 through 4

The Cavs are better 5 through 12

Oh, I don't know....you are trying to be nice.

Rondo vs. MO.....not even close. RONDO
Lebron vs. Pierce....not even close. LEBRON
KG vs Jameson.....slight advantage KG
Allen vs. Parker...big advantage Allen
Shaq vs. Perkins...even.

IF everyone were to play up to potential.... it would be advantage Celtics. The match-ups are not good for the Celtics. The CAVS have to hope the CELTS play old.

That's what Bill just said. The Celtics have a better 2 through 4. The only advantage right now for the Cavs is LeBron. The Cavs bench though is deeper than the Celtics. That doesn't matter much in the playoffs though, especially when our stubborn coach only plays 7 deep.

The main issue is, Lebron HAS to be the best player on the court every night. And he has not been, and that has cost them. So far, Rondo has been the best player in the series.

What Rondo is doing in this series is absolutely scary.

For the season, he averaged: 13.7 pts, 9.8 ast and 4.4 reb. If the Cavs contained him to his "typical" regular season stats, we sweep the Celtics no problem, but....

In this series, Rondo has averaged: 21.75 pts, 13 ast and 8.25 reb.

In Game 4, he had 29 pts, 13 ast and 18 reb.

What the hell has gotten into him and how do we contain him?! And how does a 6'1" guard snag EIGHTEEN rebounds?! That's embarrassing.

Has missed only 4 out of something like 26 or 27 shots. And ALOT were Hakeem Olajuwan type moves. IF he would EVER develope a jump shot, he could be one of the best centers EVER.

Ummmm....OK. There is so much wrong here I don't even know where to start.

First let me say that I LIKE Dwight Howard. I was only funnin' with the insider when you jumped in getting all defensive over Dwight Howard. But one of the best centers of all time? Oh my goodness that is so so wrong.

First of all, are we really basing this on seven games against two weak teams? Teams who are particularly weak at CENTER!?!?

Yes, Howard is doing awesome...shooting 64% from the field in the playoffs, good numbers to be sure. But Howard's backup, Marcin Gortat, is shooting 63% against the same teams. Howard and Gortat are compiling these numbers in these playoffs against non-centers and scrubs such as Al Thornton, Nazr Mohammed, ZaZa Pachulia, Tyson Chandler, and Jason Collins.

If you want to talk offense, you can make the argument Howard's 15.7 PPG average is actually pretty pedestrian, considering who he's been going up against the last few weeks.

Put Howard against a team with big guys who can actually play defense, and what do you get? Four games against Boston this year, he averaged 12 points per game, including his wonderful 1 for 7, five point game in 43 minutes of playing time on Christmas Day. Hakeem was covering his eyes that day, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar turned the game off in disgust.

Mind you I am not questioning Howard's defense or his rebounding. I never have. I've only been critical of his offensive game, a criticism that is not erased by him scoring some points against a team that has no center, and has thrown in the towel already anyway.

But if you want to call him one of the best centers of all time...IF he develops a jump shot...well that is that Mount Everest of IFS. Would love to see it, but I'll believe Dwight Howard will develop a jump shot when I see it. He's been in the league six years, and he is no closer to developing a jump shot than he was the day he was drafted.

And that is with one of the great jump shooting centers of all time, Patrick Ewing, as his personal coach.

He looks more like that little gremlin from Lord of the Rings....

You FORGET that I said "IF he developes a jump shot, COULD BE one of the best centers ever"? How convenient.....LOL! NOWHERE in statement did it say "he WILL be". But as always, jumping the gun.

No, I am basing this on his improved offensive game, something you seem to have ridiculed a few post before...Even stating he "Howard is not progressing as a basketball player." Currently, he is the best center in the game. period. And he is showing it. REGARDLESS of how bad or good the other "scrubs" have played. And just about every year, his stats have been better than the last.

WOW!!! You have to have some credentials in developing centers to actually think he developing a jump shot is a, what was it again, oh yeah, "Mount Everest of IFs". Let's just say, he has better chance of climbing THAT mountain way before your team wins an NBA championship. Now THAT is a a Mt. Everest.;)

And Ewing knows THAT for sure......LOL!

I did not forget, I spoke to your IF later in my post. You even quoted me speaking to it. ;)

Dwight Howard developing a jump shot is a Mount Everest of IFS...since six years into his NBA career he has not even started. ;)

Yeah, bringing the Knicks into the discussion is really relevant here. The Knicks futility thanks to Isiah Thomas is totally related to Dwight Howard's offensive game, everyone knows that.

Jeesh, that was weak.

A Special Comment by HD MM. I'm talking to you LeBron!

With the Series in Balance, It's All on LeBron.

You know what, I'm done playing it cool. In one game we look like Champions, then the next we don't. Then we do, then we don't. Enough with the inconsistency.

In two games, I've seen passive LeBron and two others I saw aggressive LeBron. LeBron is the MVP again, for the 2nd straight year. There's no denying he's the best player in the league, but there is truth to the statement that he's being outplayed by a 6'1" skinny point guard donning the green and white. Why is this?

LeBron has all the talent in the world. Possibly more so than Michael Jordan. But one things for certain. He hasn't shown the same drive Jordan had. At least not in each and every game this series. With the series in balance, would Michael defer to his teammates? Nope. MJ fought, scratched, kicked, cussed, yelled, belittled, uplifted, kicked ass, patted ass, kissed ass, whatever it took. On every single possession in every single game. But in the end, win or lose, he knew, and we knew, that he had given everything that he had to give.

Anyone else think LeBron left anything on the court in Game 2 & 4? Me too. LeBron is plenty capable of being the best player on the court and dominating a game from start to finish each and every night. Enough with the blaming of the lack of help from role players or his injured elbow. I don't want to hear it. His epic performance in Game 3 proved that LeBron is capable of still playing to his peak potential even if he is hindered.

This isn't just about Cleveland winning it's first Title since 1964, it's about LeBron's legacy. His future remains in balance. He's held the team and city hostage with his tight-lipped secret intentions of his future. The rest of his team is playing nervous. His play is making the city nervous. We know this may be our last great shot at a Championship for a long time.

Just so you know LeBron, if you don't win this year, it's on you. The love affair is over. We've been the best regular season team for two years straight. We've been a contender ever since you've been on our team. Our GM and owner have done everything in their power to surround you with more weapons. This is your 7th year, the same year Jordan won his first Title with the Bulls. I realize the expectations are high, but guess what? That goes with the territory. Time to step it up. Cleveland is calling you out.

Win or go home.
