2010-11 NFL Season

I saw that. Why would they trade him?

Belichick is arrogant and believes he can win with anybody.

He makes a pretty strong case too with the way he drafts. Jullian Edelman and Brandon Tate are no Randy Moss, but they should fill in just fine IMO.

And besides, the true stud in that receiving core is by far and away Wes Welker.

The Boston talk shows are speculating that the Pats will get a 2011 third rounder from the Vikings for Moss (that would give the Pats two picks in each of the first three rounds). The Pats could then send one of their first round picks to San Diego for Vincent Jackson.

Sign me up, as long as it's the Patriots first round pick AND NOT the Raiders!

New England's doing something right, because that right there is shear genius!

Jackson's talent would obviously be worth it, but the risk of being one incident away from a lengthy suspension wouldn't be....

They are after someone even better ?

Rumors from Mike and MIKE are that seeing the Pats have plenty of draft picks, that they could trade Moss, get a draft pick or two.
Then use a 1st and a 2nd or 3rd, to go out and get Vincent Jackson.

Looks like the Pats are getting a 3rd from the Vikes, which is one round better than what they gave up for him several years ago.

Why the Vikes want him ..... Farve possibly in his last year, Harvin in and out of the line up and they already have lost other WR's this year.

Yep...that was talked about ALL morning down here that the PATS will be going after Vincent Jackson.:up

Tough Viking schedule over the next few weeks, with some compelling storylines in three of them:

Mon, Oct 11 At Jets
Sun, Oct 17 Dallas
Sun, Oct 24 at Green Bay
Sun, Oct 31 at New England

With the Pats getting another draft pick they have like eight picks in the first four rounds next year. The always like to pile up the draft picks.

I was just gonna post the same thing......almost verbatim! :up

Look, I have LOVED watching Randy Moss the last 3+ years (especially the near 19-0 2007 season), but the Pats got away from what made them champions in '01, '03 and '04..........tough, physical football with a lunch pail mentality! I blinked and they became a finesse team.

They became old and many moved on.

Looks like this may have been the last straw:

Receiver Randy Moss and New England Patriots quarterbacks coach Bill O'Brien were involved in a heated exchange at halftime of the team's victory Monday over the Miami Dolphins, according to player sources.

The locker-room exchange, described as an "outburst" by one player, came two days before the Patriots traded Moss to the Minnesota Vikings for a 2011 third-round draft choice, and could have contributed to the team's decision to make the deal.

The Patriots trailed 7-6 at halftime of the game, and Moss had just one pass thrown in his direction up to that point. According to sources, Moss told O'Brien it was on him to make some adjustments. O'Brien, who calls the plays, didn't take kindly to the remark, and emotions rose.

I find it strange that here is a FOR SURE HOF on your team....and at 30-something, STILL one of the 10 best WR in the game...and you only throw ONE BALL his way?

Can someone please explain THAT one to me?
That doesn't matter. He broke a cardinal rule:

Don't bitch about not getting the ball enough after your team wins.

That is somewhat of a bullsh** rule. He should bitch. Would the same have been said if Brady bitched that the PATS are not throwing the ball?

It's simple to me, if you have GREAT resources...and Randy Moss, the FOOTBALL PLAYER is a still a great resource....then use them.

Why did he have only 9 or so catches going into the game before the Dolphins game?

Yes, every player should bitch if they don't get the ball thrown to them enough, don't carry the ball enough, etc. The heck with the team concept.

Last I checked it's still a team sport. It just shows a selfishness when you complain about not getting the ball enough after your TEAM wins.

This is the same MO that TO has shown almost everywhere he has been...

Shows you what a moron Marvin Harrison is. Sitting there year after year, doing his job whether the ball is thrown his way or not, without complaint. What a loser.

A little more info:

Belichick later approached the wideout on the flight home and when Moss refused to chat, the coach likely knew the situation had reached a point of no return.

The two had enjoyed a very good relationship. Moss, in fact, told the Herald last month he loved Belichick not only as a coach but as a man.

So, as always, it became a matter of Belichick doing what he felt was best for the team long term. Would ownership argue? No. From that end, it was more like good riddance.

complain all ya want...The Vikes will welcome him back :)

And with the WR core we have right now out there we can use ANYONE :p
