2010-11 NBA Basketball Season

Riiiiiggghhhhhtttttt....... !

I don't believe it for one second. Denver CANNOT be stupid enough to let Carmelo walking away without getting compensated...can they?

NOBODY can offer them the deal the NETS have on the table. They will revisit this again and it will they will make the trade.

New Jersey Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov has team drop Carmelo Anthony deal - ESPN New York

Rumor is Carmello himself nixed the deal.

That's got to be so aggravating with the two clubs. Both have exhausted so much effort in getting a trade done, then when you think it's a done deal, Mello says he doesn't want to be traded!? WTF?

BUT, Denver can still trade him. I don't think he has that veto power.

Who would you consider the early MVP favorite?

With every team at or near the halfway point, here is how I would rate the top 5 candidates:

1. Derrick Rose
2. Manu Ginobili
3. Pau Gasol
4. LeBron James
5. Amar'e Stoudemire

I'd love to put Rajon Rondo in there, but the fact is he's lost too many games to injury. However, when he's played, he's easily been a top five NBA player.

That looks about right.....nice picks Bill.

Blowout night!

Magic beat Raptors by 40, with the Orlando's reserves scoring 35 of their team's 39 points in the fourth quarter (admittedly, against Toronto's reserves, who must be a sorry lot).

Hornets beat Hawks by 41 in Atlanta.

Celts beat Jazz by 24, with supersub Semih Erden dominating them in place of the injured Shaq, Jermaine, Perkings...and Wallace. Erden was 5-5 from the field, 4-5 from the line, and led all players with 7 rebounds.

Suns beat Wizards by 18 in Washington.

And the 12-31 Nets even won by 15!

Hmmmm....

....interesting..;)

If you think the Nuggets simply have to resolve the Carmelo Anthony saga and move on, think again. Denver has another issue brewing, one that has been largely ignored with all the attention on Melo. It's the impending free agency of another player we're on a one-name basis with: Nene.

Like Anthony, Nene has an early-termination option he can exercise after the season, and sources say he is upset with all the attention focused on Anthony's situation while his isn't being resolved. Nene, arguably Denver's second-best player, has made a list of three teams he's interested in signing with or being traded to -- and not surprisingly, one of them is Miami, where his fierce interior presence would be the missing piece for the Heat.

Post-Ups: Nene impatient with Nuggets' focus on Melo - NBA - CBSSports.com Basketball

Great game between Miami and the Knicks. Wade was a two-edged sword. He was 14-22 from the field....GREAT! He was 6 for 15 from the FT line....and oh-for-7 in the 4th....AWFULL. Lebron, could not stick in if he was in a brothel.... 7 for 24.
