Hi guys

1. I did not receive a user manual when I had my initial install. Is there a site online where I can down load a copy?

2. The install company is returning today to re aim the dish. I originally had a signal strength of 23, which gave me an image. Within 20 minutes of the installer leaving the signal had dropped to 17-19 and I no longer had an image. What kind of signal strengths have you all been getting?

Thanks in advance!!

Gregg

Hi Scott!!

Thank you!!

Now how about the signal strength question?

Seasons greetings

Gregg

If you have strong reason to believe the signal strength should be better, you can try the factory reset proceedure followed by the power reset proceedure. This process has corrected many of the OTA low signal strength problems.

I had the same issue with my local ABC channel. After performing these proceedures the channel comes in fine.

Hi Greg. Perhaps this is OT, but you may know as a fellow ISF calibrator who posts on forums like DFF and HTS. Anyway, I was wondering if your voom box is creating any calibration issues like red push?

I'm a Dish customer and am upgrading to the new 811 HD box. A lot of folks have been complaining that is crushes blacks in SD programming. I figure it may not be a big deal if I can just adjust for that in my TV's service menu. However, I'm not sure how to calibrated to compensate for the effects of the box. In other words, if I use a DVD for signals or the VP300, how to I compensate the difference between those signals and the box's signal? How would you do this with a Voom box?

As for the signal strength...can't help you there. sorry.

hi

After you do a "base line" HD calibration using a reference source such as a VP 300 or an accupel you then adjust NON REFERENCE HD sources (with is everything except for MS Media 9 and HD DVHS stuff) by eye.

I answered the red push question yesterday in the "red push thread". Hope that helped?

My signal strength question is not in relation to OTA but rather to the 61.5 satellite signal strength. Once I ge the satellite working Ill then worry about the OTA stuff.

Thanks in advance!!

Gregg

Gregg,

I hope it is not too late but here it is. Before the software download, you will get a very low satellite signal strength. After the download, it will increase. Users have reported a signal strength between 50 - 70. Those numbers cannot be compared to E* or D*.

Did we get a new Channel today?

VOOM is only $700 at Sears
