I guess they are removing the channels they put there (but never made available) a few weeks ago. Doesn't mean we are losing anything, just that Dish Network is taking back something that wasn't available. Many speculated when Dish uplinked these that they were rearranging the channel lineup (which is much in need of a clean up).

Well I will say it a thousand times, I wish Dish Network will 'tidy up' the arrangement of the channels. Having channels duplicated and scattered around, even if you set your favorites...is still hard to navigate sometimes.

Like a true SatelliteGuy, that darn rabbit never gives up trying to get new HD

I noticed his avatar the other day, but I am not getting my hopes up this time until around the time of that Dish Network Team Summit Convention event they have in the Spring, that's when I think the new national HD will appear. They gotta have something to talk about at that convention right..? ;)

They should just do as DIRECTV does and if there is an hd version of any channel it takes the place of that channel and the sd version goes away. Then there is no need to have hundreds of mirror channels cluttering up the guide . I have a slew of channels locked out in my locks menu to clean up all the clutter.

The only problem I see with that is sometimes you can lose signal on 1 sat knocking out that channel. With both still listed, you could watch the other in the downtime.

I don't have this happen unless the channel itself goes out. Now when the crappy echostar 5 sat at 129 was the only one up there , I had a lot of hd channels drop out . So much so that I had the 61.5 sat added to use instead of the 129 lnb. I now have all 4 sats in my switch matrix and no more drop outs .

That would be true if it wasn't for Stretch-O-Vision. I have all the SD versions locked out, except for Scripps and Turner channels. Sometimes, I just can't handle the distortion and switch down to the SD.
