C&I now active and available. Well, that's one! I jumped over to the channel on my TV, and the signal looks decent. I ran down the program listing a bit and there seems to be a goodly amount of programming in HD.

Since I was at 387, I also ran on up to WFN to check out the signal quality there. Good picture, apparently real HD. Much better than the first little bit the channel was on. Feb. 1 is not bad after all.

Whoops !! I should have checked before I posted. Although the channel says SMITHSONIAN, it isn't. Doggone it !! I LIKED Smithsonian !!!

If you go to 374 (formerly Smithsonian), they are broadcasting C&I and press info and it says "We regret to inform you DISH Network will no longer carry this channel. We are pleased to announce the launch of Crime & Investigation on channel 387"

May have been a simple question of supply and demand. More people will watch C&I than were watching Smithsonian

CI HD is on 374 SMITH and 387 CI is black screen.

I agree. We watched a lot of the Smithsonian. Yep, blank screen. This sucks.

Wikipedia already has that Dish is dropping on Feb 1. I have HD Absolute. It is showing the listing for CI on 387 and just like it is for everyone else, CI is actually on Smithsonian(374), with the blank screen on 387. Wonder if we might get more HD added to that pack.

BTW, Smithsonian is a joint venture between Showtime & the Smithsonian Institute... not a good omen for more Showtimes in HD.

proabably another uplink report coming soon.
CI is now on at 387, and 374 is black screen with audio... (not sure of the channel) ... then nothing at all. still waiting for the slate on 374.

No report will be coming for this. They moved the Source to the Reported transponder.
