Has anyone ever used regular catv coax rated for 1GHZ on satellite runs. I know you are supposed to run coax that is swept tested for dbs frequencies but does it matter that much. The reason I ask is because I have some Commscope Trishielded RG-11 rated for 1GHZ that I would like to use on some runs to my Dish 811.

Satellite uses frequencies over 1GHZ exclusively. It does not use the below 1GHZ which is why you can send OTA (which is below 1GHZ) and satellite (over 1GHZ) down the same cable.

Big price increase IF Dish adds some Voom channels?
