How much does it cost to break a 18 month contract from getting a new reciever from Dishin it Up? I'm trying to see whether I should buy a 625 or lease it thru dishin it up?

The charge will be at least the cost of the remaining monthy serice you signed up for. For example, if you have 10 months left on your contract and that contract requires a minimum of AT60+locals at $30 a month, the cost of breaking the contract is AT LEAST $300.

See ya

whatever it is, it's not planned so that it's pleasant to break. If they make you pay for the remained of programming, there's really no point in breaking it is there?

It is $13.99 for each month you have remaining on your contract(at least thats what they told me when I signed up a couple months ago).

So, if you really don't want to stick with Dishnetwork, it's worth it to cancel whenever you want(rather then paying your current monthly bill).

I was told it is something like $ 13.33 a month to buy out the remainder of an 18 month committment.

That's exactly what it is. I have the AEP pack plus locals, HD, & Voom. I was told it would be $159.96 to cancel with 12 months left on my contract. Thankfully I finally got a CSR that was willing to help with a problem rather than let a customer cancel service.

Mr. Phillips,
It is an honor to meet you (if only online), I love your work on Dateline NBC, I watch it all the time :D

(I bet you NEVER get that :D :D )

As others noted, it's $13 and some change for each month remaining. And yes, the customer service department makes it *very* unpleasant to get out of the contract.

In my case, we had technical difficulties which they could not resolve and they fought tooth & nail to hold me to the contract (keep in mind I wasn't even a customer for 1 month yet). Finally, after several on-site visits and lots of call complaints I got the right customer service rep and he cancelled my contract with no charge.

I felt like kissing the ground the guy walked on. Obviously your case is different, but for the way I was treated I will never be a Dish Crapwork customer again.

Lease Fee ?

Dish treats former customers like dirt.
