I have having my 18" replaced with (what I hope is) a slimline dish.
1st question. When I set my receiver to triple LNB, I can run cable tests to view signal strengths for the 101, 110, and 119 satellites. It is showing that ( on transponders that is does give a signal strength for) I am seeing signals around 80+ on average for all 3 satellites. Is this a positive indication that when the new dish is installed that I should be able to see all 5 satellites (99, 101, 103, 110 and 119)? The 18" dish is pointing to the S-SW, with nothing to the left of the dish, and some trees to the right. Seeing as how I am getting good signals from the 119, then most likely these trees may be less of a concern.
Lastly, seeing as how I have had the 18" for about 7 years, should I have them run new cable with new connectors to be sure they are up to standards needed for th HD system??
