1000.4 119 Question

Hello,

Subscribed to TurboHD wasn't happy so I decided to go DishLatino Max/HD. Has all of what I want with the exception of Speed and FX. Appears that the latio package has them on 119? My current configuation is 1000.4 and a 500 with a single lnb. I can get 110, 61.5 72 77. How can I get 119 on this existing setup to fill in the channel gap until they move these channels to one of the other sats?

Latino stuff is on 110, isn't it? I don't think you can do that with a 1000.4 dish; you really need a 1000.2, maybe repointing your current wing dish to 61.5.

I have a dish 500 pointed at 61.5 I can't find the dual lnb for the life of me. I figured an alternative approach would be run the 61.5 from the 1000.4 into the 110/119 lnb giving me 110/119 and 61.5. Does anyone think this is incorrect?

Turbo HD sucks, I thought it was some differnt like all HD, turbo would get the pick of the litter in terms of HD programming. Since Viacom stuff (HD) and FX (SD) is accessible via dish latino max/hd it's a beter fit for the family.

Problem is Dish tech are goobers. I'd rather just order a replacement LNB and yoke from ebay and do it myself.

This is a fine solution. Since your locals and everything else that would be on 129 is actually on 61.5, this is your answer.

How are you going to get 110 & 119? It would be extremely difficult with a 1000.4.

Missed that part. The 1000.4 is useless for anything other than that for which it was designed. You need a standard D500 with a dual LNB on 110/119 and a DP Twin LNB pointed at 61.5.

In this configuration couldn't you just put up a 500 pointed at the 110/119 and plug it into the input port on the 1000.4's LNB? Since everything this person needs from the 129 is on the 61.5 they wouldn't need anything more and would be looking at 5 satellite locations.... right? (Isn't there something about needing more than one receiver if you have 5 or more satellite locations though...)

Just for fun... could you tune in a 1000.2 and plug it into a 1000.4 and get all 6 locations?

I don't know the technicals... hence why this is a question.

You definitely can't plug a Twin LNB into a 1000.x; you'd burn out one or both LNB assemblies in a matter of weeks if not days. You can only plug a Dual LNB into a 1000.4 or 1000.2.

I don't know how to see more than four orbitals at once, unless you could plug a 1000.4 and a 1000.2 or a DPP Twin into a DPP44 multiswitch. I don't think that's technically allowed, though.

Some day, a single dish with a single LNB will come, spotting a solitary bird in the sky, and all of the TV channels in the world will be on it's feed. Until then, I'm stuck looking like a jackass trying to keep all of these LNBs straight in my head. I'm thinking about getting a tatoo of the list on my arm.
