Yes, don't even bother to try. When Bell moved to their new satellite, much of the USA lost the signals.

A Directv wb68 will work, or 2 22Khz tone switches, the Ecoda or there are many more manufacturers.

Shaw set-up South of the border

Any 22KHz switch should work fine. Two if you are using 2 LNBs.

What are the technical output frequency specs of BellTV?

It's smaller than the Bell dishes so might not have enough gain. Unfortunately the only way to know would be to try it!

Loss of signal at 45 Lat.

You should not have any problems where you are, with the dish you have. It's very rare for the tuners in receivers to go bad, but possible.

Have low signal on a couple of Anik1

Mike, I might be wrong but I don't think the signal "strength" you receive is affected by the situation on the uplink. It's affected by the power of the transponder transmitter on the satellite, the antenna on the satellite and the noise level on the path between the satellite and the ground. So...

Shaw in North Georgia possible or not???

Yes, it's definitely possible, you are well within the coverage of both Anik F1 and F2. Coverage extends all the way into Mexico and the Caribbean.

Have low signal on a couple of Anik1

Can someone with Shaw Direct in the "south" (I'm in Texas) check some of their transponder readings from Anik F1? I am currently getting low signals but only on a couple of transponders. TP12 vertical (KNOW channel 9) for example is in the 60s, as is Global TV Toronto TP6 vertical. Everything...

    Direct TV north of Toronto

Yes, I think they have better things to do. But I know they have gone after a couple of dealers. None the less, the law exists. I suspect the only way it will get enforced is if Bell decides to make a big noise, because of course DirecTV is not licensed to deliver programming to Canada and all...

    Direct TV north of Toronto

Yes, sorry I was confused. North Bay is well within the contour map for the HD US national satellites. But just FYI receiving DirecTV in Canada is actually ILLEGAL (not just a breach of the DirecTV terms of service). Not that this happens very often, but the police can confiscate your equipment...

    Direct TV north of Toronto

Very unlikely. For sure the DirecTV HD satellites don't cover much of Canada, the SD ones somewhat more.

    Shaw Direct installation advice needed

FYI, successfully installed my 630 using two 36in dishes. Set up first dish, connected 630, aligned using 630 and small TV on the roof next to the dishes - was 86 degrees F at 7am (106 by 3pm!) here in DFW. Aligned first dish on F1 using 299, activated, aligned second dish on F2. Signals on...

    Shaw Direct installation advice needed

OK, I am moving from Bell to Shaw since here in Texas I am now out of the footprint. Will be installing a 630 with two 36in dishes. Have read everything I found in the various forums but am still somewhat confused. Am I correct in thinking I should start by getting one of the dishes aligned on...
